Happy Spring Break, y’all!
We want to share some ideas for vacationing right here at home that will save you lots on travel time AND money.
First up is a crowd favorite – go camping in your backyard!
This will depend on your weather, of course, but dust off the tent, grab some sleeping bags and snuggle up with your family to watch some neighborhood stars. Bonus points if you can incorporate a campfire and s’mores!
If it’s rainy where you live, take a trip to the local library, and spend the afternoon getting lost in your favorite stories.
Many libraries even host events during Spring Break, so check out the ones closest to you to find out if anything special is going on!
Organize a block party with your neighbors!
If other families on your street are staying in town, this can be a great opportunity to set up a barbeque and take over the street to let the kids run around and play.
Host a movie marathon. Pick a series or genre and get the popcorn going! This is another easy option if your weather is less than ideal.
Take an afternoon trip! You can bring a picnic to Palisades Park and do some hiking, explore Rickwood Caverns or go on a Covered Bridge Tour – all with time to be back home for supper.
We hope these Staycation ideas inspire you to simplify Spring Break.
